Dr. Philipp Schulte
Dr. Philipp Schulte (*1978) studied Applied Theater Studies at Bergen University (Norway) and Gießen University, where he graduated in 2005. He received his Ph.D. from Gießen University in 2011 with the completion of his thesis "Identität als Experiment", published at Peter Lang as part of the series "Studien zu den performativen Künsten". Since 2007, he works as project supervisor at the Hessian Theater Academy in Frankfurt and as a freelance author and dramaturge for the performance collective Monster Truck (Berlin); "Comeback. Ein Schreckensszenario" – co-produced by sophiensaele Berlin and Künstlerhaus Mousonturm Frankfurt / "Everything is Flux" – co-produced by Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf and HAU Berlin), Susanne Zaun (Frankfurt; "Dreckig Tanzen" / "Das beste Theaterstück der Welt" – schauspielfrankfurt), Andreas Bachmaier (Amsterdam; "It is what it is" – Künstlerhaus Mousonturm Frankfurt) and Mamoru Iriguchi (London). Since 2009, he is Research Assistant at the Institute for Applied Theater Studies in Gießen. He published numerous papers and is Co-Editor of "Thinking - Resisting - Reading the Political", published at diaphanes, and of "Die Kunst der Bühne. Positionen des zeitgenössischen Theaters", published at Theater der Zeit.
