Miriam Dreysse is professor of Theatre Studies at Universität der Künste, Berlin, faculty for Performing Arts. She studied Aplied Theatre Studies in Gießen and did her doctor's degree on the theatre works of Einar Schleef in 1999. In the 1990s, she frequently worked practically in theatre, first as a director's assistant, later as a production dramaturg. Her focus in teaching and research is on contemporary theatre and performance as well as on gender and queer theory and on the construction of gender in contemporary theatre.
With Florian Malzach she co-edited a book about Rimini Protokoll (Experten des Alltags. Das Theater von Rimini Protokoll, Berlin: Alexander 2007) and published multiple articles on aspects of staging gender identities. In Hildesheim she habilitated on the topic of 'Motherhood and Familie. Staging in Theatre and Performance", this paper was publish 2015 by transcript.
