The Department of Geography and Regional Science is looking for a

*(Senior) Scientist*

(40 hours a week; fixed-term employment for the period of 6 years with an objective agreement; position to be filled as of now)

Job specification (selected):
– Collaboration in geomorphology and environmental monitoring in the “Alpine Landscape Dynamics” research group
– Own research activities preferably in the fields of alpine morphodynamics, geo-risk and/or periglacial/glacial processes in high mountains
– Acquisition of third-party funding, independent execution of research projects and scientific publishing
– Independent conceptualisation and execution of teaching of 4 SWS (weekly hours per semester)

Professional qualifications (selected):
– Completed doctorate or PhD in the field of physical geography or closely related sciences
– International publication and presentation record
– Experience in project management
– Knowledge of one or more modern fieldwork techniques in geomorphology, such as TLS, geophysical subsurface investigation, instrument-based environmental monitoring
– Teaching experience in physical geography, including supervising diploma, bachelor and master theses
– Very good command of English, at least basic command of German
